About Lemniskata

Lemniskata – life without barriers, NGO is a non-governmental non-profit organisation in Prague 2, running a sheltered workplace for people with mental, physical or psychic handicap. We mainly produce paper products.

The main idea of the protected workshops is enabling and preservation of working opportunities in a sheltered, but at the same time creative and internally free space. Our goal is for our employees to find self-security in their work and to gain new manual and social skills while feeling as a part of a group of people who are respecting their individual needs while creating a whole community.

The team of people participating in running the organisation agrees with a basic human right to live in such conditions which are enabling him to grow his qualities and fill his life with a purpose. We direct our collective work so that each of us without difference can further cultivate his abilities, thanks to which he can be a meaningful part and give our society the best of himself.

Společná fotografie

The organisation was founded based on an impulse from the Prague 2 municipal office and has been operating since April 2011. Its operation has officially stared on June 14 2011 with a celebratory opening which has been widely supported and, with his typical humour, presented by Jaroslav Dušek.

Our working spaces are located in Prague Vinohrady, they are completely barrier-free and adapted for employing handicapped people.

Since its founding, Lemniskata has been a member of the Society of healing pedagogics and social therapy in Czech Republic, whose aim is cooperation in the healing pedagogics and social therapy field, whole-life study, mindful work and growing through life and professional experiences of its members.
